LS is already one of the most mobile weapons and with the FSS you’ll basically be invincible 95% of the time. Pretty much ! Nothing like trying out different weapons and if something seems cool, check Arekkz youtube videos on that weapon (or another creator), because the game won't tell you most moves/things about a weapon 😄 Sword and shield is one of the most intuitive weapons, most other weapons will feel kinda clunky until you get into the rhythm. Guess that's just me though. Also. Interesting, as a swaxe main when I started playing I’d rarely use the sword mode due to it’s poor mobility, as I went further into the game I learned that sword mode just does way too much damage to be ignored, so I ignored axe mode for a while until I started getting me shit rocked in endgame due to me not using the mobility provided by axe mode, and finally post endgame I learned the I'm pretty new to the series, just finished World and did some high rank quests, currently sitting at hr40. The comfortable axe mode is great for general combat and breaking those high-up tails (and parts in general due to Power Axe mode,) while sword mode has some awesome damage output although you have to play it way more carefully due to the lack of mobility. I have the tradition to choose a complete new weapon to main everytime a new game/dlc gets out. If you played the 'wrong' weapon you werent in for a good time. Also GS in MHW is the most fun I had. Greetings,A couple of weeks ago, I grew curious which weapon was the most popular one in Rise, and by what margin. If you ignore the buff properties just to start out (except for Self-Improvement - experiment a little and you'll quickly understand its always-applicable utility), hunting horn is an extremely approachable weapon for new players, dealing nice KOs, exhausting monsters and leading to less erratic fights, breakin' faces, and boasting a huge safe reach with extremely liberal dodge radius. And to be honest, I'd be fine with that. We have this sheet that has a couple of the endgame fights. It's honestly such a fun weapon now, and although I'm no speedrunner I kill most monsters in sub 5 mins, so the weapon clearly slaps too. It did a world but better. The monsters' move sets feels way more realistic than Rise. The iai stuff was much better in world imo. after that, you almost never put your weapon away, movement is faster with it out + triple buffs I could be wrong on this one but I think attacking from ledges and slopes have higher mounting values than using the mounting move if a weapon has one. Also, I'm not asking which is the META weapons, but which ones were your favourite regardless of tier placement? Considering getting into ranged for the first time in a mh game and was wondering what’s considered top tier for solo. Honestly the most important thing is to upgrade your mantles are some are extremely useful, and augment your main weapon for health regen once you reach the grinding lands, eventually if you stick with the game you’ll be able to use any weapon without trouble. Now in true MH fashion, I'm trying out all the other weapons. Also, I'll eliminate a few weapons for you. Hammer has the highest damage stats because it has the highest bloat value at 5. So please tell me what your favorite weapon is and why you think its the most fun to play (≠ the best/most op) I am currently playing longsword and chargeblade, and I want to know how fun bow is. Most probably answered based on optimising the weapon. All in all, every weapon is great. E gravios from older games which like kirin is heavily armoured all over for weapon bouncing and farts fire gas around itself basically every other attack. I have level 4 Water and Fire LS If you think it's cool, stick with it. It's just a hassle. First of all is if you watch any MHW guides from when the game launched, they will talk about how tobi-kadachi, anjanath, odogaron or Rathalos were walls which took many attempts to slay, but since I was using the defender weapons I completed every monster first Somehow over the years, I transitioned to a gunlance user started in freedom as a greatsword user, tri as a greatsword+longsword user, mh4u as a longsword/HBG/LBG user, (skipped mhxx) then mhw as a greatsword/gunlance user. Crit Status is generally not very good, but Kjarr Numb SnS doesn’t sacrifice too much tRaw and you don’t need Para decos to get the extra proc (check the pinned album for the build). Played only MHW and MHR. It's still fun in GenU for me, but the added mobility in Rise, as well as the fun Switch skills, just makes it a nice fun weapon. What I'm wondering, however, is if any of the weapons feel/look better with the graphical and gameplay additions in World? When I started 4U I was drawn (back) to the Greatsword due to the jumping slash. I've never crafted a velkhana/Nami/silver los weapon but I have their layered available, might be different for things that aren't in the guiding lands but I have all of Sharad available as layered as well and haven't crafted any of its weapons either You can even jump when dashing, evading breath weapons and getting easy mounts as you can attack while in the air. There are a lot of weapons in MHW, but only a few make you feel like true hunters. Normal Full Burst is the strongest and slowest. Plus a good longsword main could absolutely spam helmbreaker through foresight slashes and the normal iai slash that slowly charges spirit blade into fade slash (with focus) for a quick setup into the spirit combo. Longsword is a perfect blend of seamless uninterrupted attacks and counters, and to this day I have not found another weapon that's as fun for me. Chaotic gore is being recommended for raw builds cuz it had good statsbut its a dragon weapon. It gives a little bit of variation in your gameplay, and gives you some different sets to build and try out. Unfortunately, most weapons stop upgrading before they could look really unique. Hammer is way more maneuverable, fun as well, I preferred GS. If that's what matters to you, see which weapons fits your needs best. So how is it? Also I personally don't like playing trash weapons, I understand you can do good with anything. o. Vaal Hazak using Charge Blade: I can guard point almost every attack he has, and most SAED's will stagger him out of whatever he's doing. It's def one of the lower used weapons though. Specially against when it gets frenzy spamming lightining around it and I can't counter and what to do when it gets armor. I played LS for a really long time and then decided to start a new file to learn Great sword and I feel like GS rewards all your accumulated knowledge of monster movesets and fight micromanagement the most. Sword + Shield is very fluid and mobile. I found bows to be the most fun/interesting ranged weapon to use. If you master this weapon you'll still hit like a truck. This makes comparisons within a weapon class easy but across weapon classes harder. Luckily, with MHW you don't have to worry about gunner vs Melee armor sets (god bless) so you can easily switch.
